Derek 'The Brooker' Brooker Guitar, Vocals The Brooker has been expressing himself creatively through music his entire life. Somewhere along the way he found jazz, blues and the guitar and spent countless hours locked in his room practicing and focusing primarily on songwriting, the guitar and just as he still does today, playing live improvised funky music, (funk-fusion) deeply rooted in the blues and jazz. While earning his bachelors degree in music at San Francisco State University, he helped form the local favorite dance band, Funklogic, held down the guitar chair in the SFSU big band for 3 years and was a featured performer at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in 2000 and 2001. Now finished with school and only in his early 20's, he has been playing with The Push and solo all over the bay area in theater productions, casuals and clubs. Always focusing on becoming a better musician and not being labeled as just, another guitar player, you can be sure he will show up ready to play every time he puts on a guitar.
